(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The beauty of the central coastal region and the people of Quang Ngai were clearly showcased in the photo exhibition "Quang Ngai: A Hundred Memories, A Thousand Affections" held in Ho Chi Minh City.
The photo exhibition "Quang Ngai: A Hundred Memories, A Thousand Affections" is part of the series of activities for the first "Quang Ngai Homeland Colors" festival held in Ho Chi Minh City from January 12-13. Ms. Thai Ha (26 years old, Nghe An ) shared: "Although I am not from Quang Ngai, seeing the simplicity of the people at the event reminded me of my hometown." The "Quang Ngai Hometown Colors" program is jointly organized by the Quang Ngai Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City. The program not only promotes the cuisine , culture, land, and people of Quang Ngai but also connects those who have left their hometown. Over 40 selected photographs by 14 photographers showcase diverse perspectives on Quang Ngai province, highlighting its beauty and tourism potential. The model of the nine-wheeled waterwheel created by artisan Mai Van Quyt is a fascinating highlight at the "Quang Ngai Homeland Colors" festival. Those who have left their homeland and those who cherish the land of Mount An and the Tra River seem to feel deeply moved upon seeing this relic of their hometown. Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai, said: "The primary goal of organizing this event is to introduce and promote the image of our homeland, Quang Ngai. The model of the waterwheel is considered a traditional agricultural production tool of our ancestors, reflecting the hardworking and diligent nature of the people of Quang Ngai." Additionally, the festival also features a natural agarwood tree called "Ngọn Yên, " measuring 2m high, 50cm wide, and weighing 30kg, with a starting bid of 250 million VND. As a native of Quang Ngai province who has worked in Ho Chi Minh City for over 10 years, Tong Thi Ngoc Hue (29 years old) was moved: "Seeing these familiar images of my hometown, I miss home very much and want to go back to my hometown for Tet right away." Forty-four works by 14 carefully selected authors are on display, showcasing diverse perspectives on their homeland and capturing the essence of life in Quang Ngai. The photo exhibition will be on display throughout the program. The organizers hope to welcome Quang Ngai residents living, studying, and working in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as tourists, to visit.
