On average, Tan Son Nhat Airport is expected to handle approximately 730 flights per day (430 domestic and 300 international), with 125,000 passengers (75,000 domestic and 50,000 international). During the two busiest days, August 30th (domestic departures) and September 2nd (domestic arrivals), the volume could reach 750 flights with 130,000 passengers per day, a record high for a holiday period.

To prepare for increased travel demand during the holiday season, the airport has completed the relocation of domestic flights to Terminal 3. Currently, Vietnam Airlines , Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines have all moved to Terminal 3; Vietjet Air continues to operate at Terminal 1. In the near future, Tan Son Nhat International Airport will reorganize Terminal 1, moving all Vietjet procedures to Hall A, and renovating Hall B into a transit area connecting Terminals T1, T2, and T3. Additionally, the VNeID check-in system, biometric identification, and airport shuttle bus will be implemented, thereby optimizing passenger service.

On August 22nd, Binh Tay Market (Ho Chi Minh City) opened a market fair celebrating Vietnamese goods and selling products at stable prices. On this occasion, many vendors offered promotions and significant discounts on consumer goods, while also showcasing characteristic souvenirs such as conical hats, water hyacinth bags, and greeting cards printed with images of Vietnamese dishes… to attract visitors.

These activities are part of Ho Chi Minh City's series of consumer stimulus measures, highlighted by the concentrated "Shopping Season" promotion program running until September 15th (Phase 1) and from November 15th to December 31st (Phase 2), allowing businesses to offer deeper discounts than usual. Simultaneously, the "City Sale" event brings together over 500 domestic and international brands, offering discounts of up to 80% on perfumes, cosmetics, fashion, household goods, and more. This event takes place at Parc Mall (from August 14th to 24th), followed by events at Ben Thanh Metro Station, Diamond Plaza, SC VivoCity, and Mega Mall Thao Dien (from August 28th to September 7th). Notably, for the first time, an underground shopping space at Ben Thanh Station is being utilized, connecting with Vincom Mega Mall Thao Dien to create a novel commercial and transportation experience. In addition to price discounts, the "City Sale" also encourages cashless payments. Customers using HDBank or Vikki Bank cards receive a 10%-20% cashback or gifts; QR code payments via VNPay or ZaloPay receive an additional 5%-10% discount. Major supermarket chains such as GO!, MM Mega Market, and Saigon Co.op are also participating in the sale.

Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, said that the department is also coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor to bring mobile goods to industrial zones, export processing zones, and residential areas far from the city center to both support social welfare and contribute to price stabilization. At the same time, the department is directing market management forces to strengthen inspections and crack down on counterfeit, fake, and substandard goods to ensure a transparent business environment.

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, held a press conference to introduce the first Rice Yarn Festival, which will take place at 23-9 Park (Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) from October 16 to 19, 2025.

The festival features approximately 150 stalls showcasing dishes made from rice such as vermicelli, rice noodles, pho, banh hoi, banh tam, etc. The stalls are divided into North, Central, and South regions, featuring famous vermicelli dishes such as Hanoi's bun cha, Hai Phong's bun ca ro dong, Hue's bun bo, bun rieu, Can Tho's bun mam, Nha Trang's bun ca, and Soc Trang's bun nuoc leo... In addition, locals and tourists can learn more about the traditional rice noodle production process and experience making vermicelli and banh hoi at the craft village area.
