Pregnant woman's water breaks in floodwaters in Hue

A pregnant woman in Hue suddenly had her water break in the middle of floodwaters, bleeding profusely. Luckily, a passerby took her to the hospital for emergency treatment.

On the evening of October 29, Dr. Phan Hai Thanh - Deputy Director of the Center for On-Demand and International Treatment, Hue Central Hospital - said that the mother and child whose water broke in the floodwaters on the way to the hospital were safe, "mother and child are safe".

Initial information, on the morning of October 29, pregnant woman Nguyen Thi T. (33 years old, residing in Phu Bai ward, Hue city) showed signs of labor so she and her relatives crossed the flood to Hue Central Hospital for hospitalization.

When arriving at the intersection of Ba Trieu - Hung Vuong Street (Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City), Ms. T. suddenly went into labor with severe abdominal pain. Amniotic fluid and blood flowed out into the flooded road.

At this time, Mr. Vuong Dung (a nurse working at the anti-poison department of Hue Central Hospital) passed by and ran to help. Mr. Le Trung Lam (director of a company in Hue) was parking his car waiting to take a group of students to Da Nang for an internship and also ran over.

Ms. T. was taken by Mr. Lam and Mr. Dung to the car to overcome the flood and drive straight to the hospital.

A few minutes after Ms. T. got in the car, the baby's head was already sticking out. Fortunately, thanks to Mr. Dung's support, both mother and child safely arrived at the International and On-Demand Treatment Center of Hue Central Hospital.

"As soon as the car arrived at the hospital lobby, the baby was born. We quickly cut the baby's umbilical cord right in Mr. Lam's car. Then the mother and child were taken to the hospital for care. The baby boy weighed 3.2 kg, both mother and child were in stable health, mother and child were safe," Dr. Thanh said happily.

On the same day, Hue Central Hospital received a case of a woman giving birth and cutting the umbilical cord herself at home during the flood.

After being discovered by local people and taken to the hospital, mother and child were stable.
