After 3 months of summer, our school is still so beautiful! That was the exclamation of a group of 5th grade students at Dong Da Primary School, Tan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City on the first day of school on August 25.
At Dong Da Primary School, many students were eager to go to school very early. Meeting each other after 3 months of summer, the 5th grade boys ran to hug and put their arms around each other, laughing and talking. The girls held hands with bright smiles.
Minh Ngoc, a 5th grade student, said: "I have been studying at this school for 4 years, and I always find the school neat and beautiful. This is our last year studying here, so we will try our best to study and enjoy this wonderful environment."
After the emotional reunion moments, students from all grades gathered in the school yard for the first activities of the school year. Then, students lined up with their homeroom teachers to go to class. At Dong Da Primary School, classes were divided into different staircases to avoid waiting.
Mr. Phan Van Quang, principal of Dong Da Primary School, said: "In the 2025-2026 school year, the school will focus more on implementing the green classroom and open classroom model. Currently, the school has been planting more trees, vegetables... in the school garden to serve the upcoming lessons."
On the same morning, 399 grade 6 students of Go Vap Secondary School (Hanh Thong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) entered the first day of school, officially starting their learning journey at secondary level.
The atmosphere in the schoolyard was bustling from early on, many children were still bewildered when they set foot in their new school. Instead of the familiar faces from elementary school, they met new teachers and new friends in a completely different environment.
Mr. Le Minh Kim Long - Vice Principal of the school - said that on the first day, the students were guided to get acquainted with the routine and rules, and at the same time participated in collective activities to strengthen the spirit. In the new school year, the school continues to pursue the plan to build a happy school, increase movement activities, and creative science clubs and teams.
Also this year, the school continues to aim to realize digital transformation in teaching; train the school's teachers to apply AI technology in teaching, helping students have vivid learning illustrations such as videos , vivid infographics, not just dry theories.
Phuong Vy (class 6A2) shared: "At first I was a bit worried because I didn't know anyone, but after participating in the group game, I felt very happy and made many new friends."
Parents were also present to encourage and watch their children from afar. Ms. Minh Trang said: "Seeing my child confidently entering the new school, I feel more secure. I hope my child will have three years of secondary school with many good experiences."
The first day of school not only marks a turning point in a student's life, but also marks the beginning of an exciting new school year at Go Vap Secondary School.
