Merging the National Academy of Public Administration into the Academy of Public Administration and Management

(Dan Tri) - After merging with Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the National Academy of Public Administration became the Academy of Public Administration and Management.

On the afternoon of January 8, in Hanoi, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, chaired the ceremony to announce the decision on organization and personnel work according to Decision No. 214-QD/TW of the Politburo.

After taking over the functions and tasks of the Central Councils of Theory and Science and merging the National Academy of Public Administration, the unit reduced 23 department-level focal points, from 54 focal points before the merger to 31 department-level focal points after the merger.

After merging with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the National Academy of Public Administration became the Academy of Public Administration and Management, with headquarters in Hanoi, 1 branch in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 branch in Quang Nam province.

Thus, the organizational structure of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics includes 9 functional units, 16 research, teaching, information and publishing institutes; 6 affiliated academies.

On the same day, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang presented decisions and appointed management leadership positions.

Accordingly, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, Director of the National Academy of Public Administration, holds the position of Director of the Academy of Public Administration and Management.

The Deputy Directors of the Academy of Public Administration and Management are Dr. Nguyen Dang Que; Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Suu; Dr. Bui Phuong Dinh and Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Giang.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Van Huyen, Director of the Institute of Economics, holds the position of Director of the Institute of Economics - Society and Environment. The Deputy Directors of the Institute of Economics - Society and Environment are Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Thi Nga; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Thai; Dr. Do Van Quan.

The Deputy Directors of the Institute of Politics and International Relations are Dr. Bui Viet Huong; Associate Professor, Dr. Trinh Thi Xuyen and Dr. Tran Mai Hung.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics also presented decisions on the transfer and appointment of Associate Professor, Dr. Luu Van Quang, Director of the Institute of Political Science (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication.

Dr. Lai Duc Vuong, Deputy Director of the National Academy of Public Administration, holds the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Training and Development Management (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics).

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Ha, Deputy Director of the Institute of Sociology and Development, holds the position of Deputy Director of the Institute of Philosophy. Dr. Luong Thu Hien, Deputy Director of the Institute of Leadership and Public Policy, and Director of the Center for Gender and Women's Leadership Studies, holds the position of Deputy Director of the Institute of Human Rights, and Director of the Center for Gender and Women's Leadership Studies.
