| Many vehicles are congested at the "overflow point" on the La Son - Tuy Loan highway. |
On the morning of October 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Project Management Board said that heavy rain had caused a large amount of mud to flow across the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway at km14 through Khe Tre commune, Hue city. Immediately after that, the unit coordinated with local authorities to place signs, put up warning ropes and direct traffic towards National Highway 1A.
According to records, a large amount of soil, rock, mud and water has flowed across. The La Son - Tuy Loan expressway section at km14 caused many vehicles to be congested. In this area, many hard median strips were knocked down, causing landslides on the right slope of the road. Also, the Mu Em 3 bridge section of this expressway experienced erosion from above, causing landslides on the positive slope, causing a mass of soil and rock to flow onto the road surface. There have been no reports of casualties or vehicle damage.
Mr. Tran Duc Hiep, Director of the La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway Expansion Project (Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board) said: In recent days, the amount of rain recorded in the Nam Dong mountainous area has been very large, causing landslides and flooding in some places on the expressway and Provincial Road 14B. Currently, the unit has coordinated with local authorities to regulate traffic towards National Highway 1, conduct damage statistics with design consultants to review and evaluate and have initial remedial plans.
