Landslide buries passenger bus in Ha Giang: 11 bodies found

On the afternoon of July 13, an officer from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Ha Giang Province Police said that the authorities had just found another body in a landslide that buried a car in Ta Mo village, Yen Dinh commune, Bac Me district.

Thus, as of 2 p.m., the death toll from the horrific landslide was recorded at 11 people, 4 injured people are being treated at the hospital. Authorities are still actively searching for victims.

According to information from the leader of Ha Giang Department of Health , among the deceased victims were 2 children.

Authorities carried the victim out of the landslide scene.

The landslide at noon on July 12 on National Highway 34, at Km10+900 in Ta Mo village, Yen Dinh commune, Bac Me district, Ha Giang province, was basically fixed in the afternoon of the same day, allowing vehicles to travel normally. However, due to the heavy rains from the night of July 12 to the early morning of July 13 in Bac Me district, the above location continued to have a large landslide, burying a passenger car with license plate 29E-024.89 running on the Ha Giang - Cao Bang route. According to the car owner, the car was carrying 16 people.

Some people were present when the accident happened and joined the rescue, but the landslide continued to collapse thousands of cubic meters and buried them.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Party Committee, government, Ha Giang Provincial Police, district and commune mobilized hundreds of police officers, soldiers, army and people along with machinery and vehicles for rescue.
