Lao Cai Provincial Cooperative Alliance: Organizing a Conference to evaluate the implementation results of National Target Programs for the period 2021-2025

Attending the Conference were leaders of the Institute for Cooperative Economic Development - Vietnam Cooperative Alliance; representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches such as the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Industry and Trade; the Provincial Cooperative Alliance and all officials, civil servants, and many typical cooperatives in the province.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Duc Lam - Vice President in charge of Lao Cai Province Cooperative Union, affirmed that the Provincial Cooperative Union will continue to accompany and promptly support cooperatives in the coming period.

In the period of 2021-2025, the Provincial Cooperative Union has synchronously and effectively implemented the National Target Programs on: New rural construction; Socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and sustainable poverty reduction. Through making good use of support resources, it has created changes in collective economic development, helping many cooperatives improve their management capacity, innovate their operating methods and expand production and business linkages.

Organized dozens of conferences to promote and mobilize cooperatives to participate in building new rural areas; opened training courses on information technology, digital transformation, and e-commerce for nearly 1,000 officials and members of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and ethnic minorities in extremely disadvantaged communes. At the same time, supported many cooperatives in building websites, brand identities, IT equipment, and internet connections, contributing to improving promotion capacity and market connection.

In particular, the Union has supported 23 cooperatives to receive 23 young workers to work at the cooperative with a total budget of 1,194 million VND, supplementing young, qualified human resources, contributing significantly to the long-term development of the cooperative. At the same time, more than 600 OCOP products were supported to participate in supply-demand connection conferences, contributing to bringing the province's typical products to a wider market.

Another important milestone is that the Provincial Cooperative Union has implemented activities to support sustainable poverty reduction in Tram Tau commune (Tram Tau district). and many other disadvantaged localities with resources of about 4 billion VND, focusing on: livelihood support (buffalo, cow, goat, pig, chicken), providing animal feed, supporting necessities, disaster relief, supporting equipment of lighting systems for rural roads...

The above activities practically contribute to socio-economic development, improve people's lives and promote the role of collective economy in implementing national target programs.

In the period of 2021-2025, the Provincial Cooperative Union has synchronously and effectively implemented National Target Programs, contributing practically to the development of collective economy and cooperatives.

At the Conference, representatives of the People's Committees of some communes and leaders of some typical cooperatives shared: Advantages in accessing support mechanisms and policies; difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process and proposed appropriate solutions and wished to continue to benefit from policies in the coming period. Opinions generally agreed that: The implementation of the National Target Program has created a breakthrough development for the collective economic sector, especially in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas.

Representatives of some typical cooperatives spoke at the Conference, sharing the advantages and difficulties in accessing policies from the National Target Programs and wishing to continue accessing and benefiting from policies from the National Target Programs in the coming period.

Also in the Conference program, comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Deputy Director of the Institute for Cooperative Economic Development, presented the topic: "Digital transformation in building new rural areas towards smart new rural areas in the period of 2021-2025". The topic provided practical information, helping cooperatives better understand: Current digital transformation trends, the role of data in production and business management, and implementation solutions suitable to the conditions of each cooperative.

Concluding the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Duc Lam - Vice President in charge of Lao Cai Provincial Cooperative Union, acknowledged all opinions and affirmed: The Provincial Cooperative Union will continue to accompany and promptly support cooperatives in the coming period. Focus on effectively implementing the policies of the Party and State, helping the collective economic sector develop sustainably, modernly and adapt to the new context. Promote digital transformation, support the construction of new cooperative models associated with value chains and market integration./.
