Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tiep, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police, said that on the afternoon of December 2, due to heavy rain, Ngoan Muc Pass (Song Pha Pass) connecting Lam Dong with the old Ninh Thuan area had a landslide at Km 219 in Khanh Hoa province.
To ensure the safety of vehicles, while waiting for the authorities to handle the incident on the Lam Dong side, at the beginning of Ngoan Muc pass, the traffic police force will set up a checkpoint, instructing vehicles to stop going down the pass and change direction to safer routes.
Residents are advised to stay away from the Ngoan Muc Pass area until further notice. The landslide is not expected to be too large, and authorities will likely be able to clear it up in a short period of time.
In recent weeks, Ngoan Muc Pass on National Highway 27 connecting Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa has seen dozens of large and small landslides, causing rocks and soil to spill onto the road, posing a potential safety risk to people and vehicles.
