Daniel Farke was relieved when Leeds beat Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road on Wednesday. The win lifted them out of the relegation zone and ended a run of four straight defeats, easing the pressure on the manager.
Leeds showed their determination to stay in the top flight in their 3-2 defeat to Manchester City last weekend, and that spirit was even more evident against Chelsea (3-1). But the schedule is not easy for Daniel Farke, with Arne Slot's Liverpool visiting Elland Road on Saturday. Facing three giants in eight days is too much for a newcomer like Leeds.
The Opta supercomputer has come up with algorithms that predict that Leeds have only a 22.1% chance of beating Liverpool, who are the favorites with a 55.8% chance of winning. In short, Opta thinks that Leeds can surprise Chelsea, but not Liverpool.
Liverpool have not been at their best this season, currently sitting eighth in the Premier League table after a 1-1 draw with Sunderland, but they will be determined to rediscover the form that won them the title last season.
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last six Premier League away games against Leeds (W4 D2), winning 6-1 on their last trip to Elland Road in April 2023. Leeds, on the other hand, have often struggled against teams who lifted the trophy last season, winning just one of their last 16 Premier League games against the reigning champions (D4 L11).
But manager Daniel Farke believes this could be the best time for Leeds to break the record against the Premier League champions, with Liverpool struggling on the road recently. Liverpool have lost seven of their last 11 Premier League away games (W4), with only Fulham and Wolves (8) having lost more since the start of April.
Liverpool beat West Ham 2-0 on their last visit, but then had to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Sunderland at Anfield in midweek, as Slot's side put in another sub-par performance.
Experts polled showed that most favoured a draw, with former manager Harry Redknapp and former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson both favouring a 1-1 result, while former striker Chris Sutton was aiming for a 2-2 result. Only former BBC commentator Mark Lawrenson backed Liverpool to win 2-1.
Prediction: Leeds - Liverpool 1-2

The odds of the match were very attractive from the beginning when the defending champion Liverpool gave the newly promoted team Leeds only half a goal, won 85, lost enough. Until last night, the market did not fluctuate much. This afternoon, Liverpool still gave half a goal, won 90 and lost enough. Choosing the away team is more fun because they can make a difference.

The most popular score is a 1-1 draw with a 7.1 payout, while 0-0 is 13 and 2-2 is 15. Liverpool's odds are still higher with 0-1 being priced at 7.9, 2-1 at 8 and 2-0 at 9.2. Leeds' win is not highly rated with 1-0 being priced at 12, 2-1 at 13 and 2-0 at 22.
