Early announcement of emergency situation to handle landslide on D'ran Pass

On the morning of October 31, at the inspection of the landslide scene on National Highway 20 through D'ran Pass (Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat), Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review and promptly report on the announcement of an emergency situation regarding natural disasters to implement measures to handle the incident.

After nearly 3 days of landslide on National Highway 20 through D'ran Pass, at the scene, a hill of more than 3,000 square meters was seriously eroded, with a 2-4 meter deep depression running along the hill, at risk of sliding down to National Highway 20 at any time.

With the current situation, it will take a long time for authorities to handle the tens of thousands of cubic meters of soil and rock that are collapsing here.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 30, the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province announced traffic diversion and organization for the section Km262+400 - Km262+530 (in Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat) of National Highway 20 during the repair and overcoming of the landslide. The diversion period will last until further notice from the Department of Construction.

Currently, authorities have banned traffic through the landslide area until further notice.

The Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Construction to urgently hire a consulting unit to survey, evaluate and propose a solution to handle the landslide situation on National Highway 20 through D'ran Pass.
