Le Thanh Ton Street Upgrade Project to be completed soon

On the morning of October 28, comrade Le Huyen - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the progress of the Project to Upgrade, renovate sidewalks and build new underground technical infrastructure works for shared use on Le Thanh Ton Street (Nha Trang Ward, referred to as the Le Thanh Ton Street Upgrade Project).

The Le Thanh Ton Street Upgrade Project, with Khanh Anh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company as the construction contractor, started in February 2025, according to the contract to be completed on August 20, 2025, with a total investment of more than 30.4 billion VND. The goal of the project is to upgrade and renovate sidewalks in a synchronous manner on all roads, build underground works to concentrate and position the technical infrastructure system in a modern direction, create open space, and ensure urban aesthetics. However, the project is continuously behind schedule, causing loss of urban aesthetics and affecting traffic safety. Up to now, the contractor has completed the technical trench; 97% of the sidewalk upgrade and renovation is completed; over 97% of the drainage and wastewater drainage system is completed; 40% of the asphalt road surface is restored... Currently, the contractor is relocating the household electricity system, lighting, and telecommunications; committed to completing the entire project before November 10, 2025.

The Le Thanh Ton Street Upgrade Project is more than 2 months behind schedule.

Previously, on September 8, the People's Committee of Nha Trang Ward issued a decision to impose administrative penalties in the field of road traffic on Khanh Anh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company; fined the company 12 million VND for construction on an operating road without installing warning signs, mobile markers, and barriers as prescribed. At the same time, the company was required to ensure safety measures when performing construction work in accordance with regulations.

The slow construction progress and traffic obstruction have made many people angry.

Speaking at the inspection, comrade Le Huyen requested the Provincial Development Project Management Board to direct Khanh Anh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company to organize construction both day and night in accordance with each work content to complete the project soon but still ensure quality requirements. Nha Trang Ward People's Committee will continue to fine the contractor if the construction is still delayed. During the construction process, the contractor must ensure traffic safety, urban aesthetics, effectively and appropriately handle important locations, and minimize the frustration of households along Le Thanh Ton Street.
