The practical correctness of Ho Chi Minh's thought on the Party's leadership role in the Vietnamese revolution

A turning point in history

On his journey to find a way to save the country, the patriotic young man Nguyen Ai Quoc encountered Marxism-Leninism, from which he found the right path to save the country - leading the Vietnamese revolution to follow the path of proletarian revolution, paving the way for the Vietnamese revolution to escape the crisis in the way to save the country and develop strongly, linking the Vietnamese revolutionary movement with the world revolutionary movement.

President Ho Chi Minh consistently affirmed: “To win, the revolution must have a leading party. The Party must enlighten the masses on why they are oppressed and exploited; must teach the masses to understand the laws of social development, so that they clearly understand the purpose of the struggle; show the path of liberation to the masses, encourage the masses to resolutely carry out the revolution; make the masses firmly believe that the revolution will definitely win. Revolution is a very complicated struggle. To avoid losing direction, the masses must have a leading Party to clearly understand the situation, the path and set the right guidelines”[1].

In fact, the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930 was the inevitable result of the complete preparation process of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc in terms of politics, ideology and organization. He skillfully combined Marxism-Leninism with the workers' movement and the patriotic movement to form the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam is both in line with the development laws of the times and meets the requirements of the Vietnamese revolution. The Communist Party of Vietnam is the only Party that, from the beginning, has undertaken the mission of leading the Vietnamese revolution and has the correct revolutionary line.

The Communist Party of Vietnam is the political party of the Vietnamese working class, the vanguard of the working class, with both working class nature and profound popular and national character; capable of uniting, rallying, and attracting all classes of people to stand up and fight for revolution, forming the leading factor deciding all victories of the Vietnamese revolution.

Assessing this event, President Ho Chi Minh said: “The founding of the Party is an extremely important turning point in the history of the Vietnamese revolution. It proves that our proletariat has matured and is capable of leading the revolution”[2].

Since then, the Vietnamese revolution has gone through many ups and downs, overcome many storms and rapids, and increasingly shown itself to be the vanguard leading force of the working class, working people and Vietnamese nation.

Leading the Vietnamese revolution from one victory to another

Through each movement, the Party has increasingly demonstrated its qualities, capacity, and prestige in power, which the people trust and entrust. This is also a testament to President Ho Chi Minh's great thesis: For a revolution to be victorious, there must be a leading Party. As he emphasized: "Our Party has bases throughout the country, the Party has attracted the most revolutionary and outstanding people of the working class, the working people, and the nation. The Party has the right platform and line. The Party leads the entire people to unite in resistance, achieving many victories"[3].

In fact, under the light of Ho Chi Minh's thought, with correct strategic guidelines and tactics, the Communist Party of Vietnam has led the Vietnamese revolution from one victory to another.

Our Party mobilized, organized and led the masses to carry out large-scale revolutionary movements, prepared revolutionary forces, seized opportunities, directed the August 1945 General Uprising to success, and seized power nationwide.

Following the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 was the glorious victory of two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism.

In particular, the achievements of the nearly 40-year renovation process initiated and led by our Party have achieved many important results. As the 13th National Party Congress affirmed: "Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today."

Loyal to and creatively applying Ho Chi Minh's thought on the Communist Party, under the leadership of the Party with the correct and creative renovation policy, our people have achieved important achievements, overcome the consequences of war, the socio-economy has gradually developed, people's lives have gradually improved, international relations have been constantly expanded, national defense and security have been strengthened, the country's overall strength has continued to be maintained and developed, firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

That further vividly and convincingly affirms the practical correctness of Ho Chi Minh's thought on the Party's leadership role in the Vietnamese revolution.
