SURF 2024 - Connecting and developing the innovation and startup ecosystem.

On August 22nd, the Da Nang City Department of Science and Technology held a press conference to announce the event "Da Nang City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival - SURF 2024".

The organizing committee provides information about the " Da Nang City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival - SURF 2024".

Accordingly, the event will officially take place on August 29th and 30th, 2024 at Da Nang University of Technology (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City) with the theme "Reaching for Innovation - Connecting Globally".

This is an annual event for the innovative startup community in Da Nang City; bringing together and connecting many elements of the startup ecosystem.

With the message "Da Nang - City of Innovation and Creativity," SURF 2024 includes many outstanding activities such as: an exhibition on innovative startup activities on a virtual reality exhibition platform with the participation of more than 90 booths.

Many media outlets attended the press conference on the morning of August 22nd.

In addition, the Innovation Startup Competition attracted 30 participating teams and went through two rounds of competition. The final round is scheduled to take place on August 29th and the awards ceremony will be held at the opening session of the Da Nang City Innovation Startup Festival.

The event also included several workshops such as: the Da Nang - South Korea - Singapore Innovation Investment Connection Workshop; the "Pioneering Technology - Sustainable Entrepreneurship" Scientific Workshop; the "Model and Network for Developing Student Entrepreneurship Clubs in Da Nang City" Scientific Workshop; and the "Connecting Innovation Spaces between Da Nang and Seoul" Workshop.

At the press conference, Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Department of Science and Technology, discussed several issues related to Resolution No. 136 of the National Assembly, recently passed on June 26, 2024, on the organization of urban government and the piloting of some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang City. These include four groups of specific policies on science and technology and innovation that are groundbreaking and aim to remove many current bottlenecks and obstacles.

Through this event, the organizers aim to contribute to promoting innovative entrepreneurship, enhancing the capacity of stakeholders in the ecosystem, strongly connecting the network of experts, mentors, investors, and the startup community, and attracting participation and investment connections between components of the ecosystem within and outside the city, as well as international partners.
