Attending the meeting were nearly 200 delegates, including members of the Party Central Committee, Secretaries of Provincial and Municipal Party Committees, leaders of People's Councils and People's Committees of provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions; leaders of central ministries, branches and a number of central and local specialized agencies in the region.

This is one of the working trips of the Socio-Economic Subcommittee to work and survey localities, to assess the practical implementation of policies, Central Resolutions, and Resolutions of Party Committees of provinces and cities.

At the working session, the delegation listened to leaders of the North Central and Central Coastal localities report on the work of Party building, rectification and political system, and socio-economic development in the 2021-2025 term.

Delegates frankly mentioned practical difficulties, bottlenecks, and institutional shortcomings that hinder the development of the locality and the region. Many delegates also expressed their thoughts, feelings, and concerns about the development of the locality, the region, and the whole country.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha: It is necessary to further promote the potentials, advantages, and differences of each locality as well as the common advantages of the North Central and Central Coast regions.

Leaders of provinces and cities also boldly proposed solutions and recommendations to remove difficulties, shortcomings, and bottlenecks in general policies and specific mechanisms of each locality, creating new development momentum, breakthroughs, and creativity in the coming years.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Head of the working delegation, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the localities over the past 5 years. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, during the past term, many important policies, resolutions... of the Party, State, and National Assembly were implemented, having a great impact on the localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions.

Therefore, localities need to continue to identify key tasks in the next 5 years based on the policies and resolutions of the Central Government to maintain development momentum. It is necessary to further promote the potentials, advantages, and differences of each locality as well as the common advantages of the North Central and Central Coast regions.

Localities need to boldly propose specific proposals on institutional innovation, infrastructure development, etc. to achieve development goals in the next 5 years. These include solutions to restructure the economy towards deep integration, but still maintaining the independence and autonomy of the economy.

Innovating economic development models, focusing on green growth economic models, knowledge economy, sharing economy... as well as building separate regional economic mechanisms, based on advantages, potentials, capabilities, and human resources.

Reports from localities show that there are still bottlenecks and limitations in socio-economic development, especially in the context of the national and global economies facing many difficulties. Therefore, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that localities need to continue restructuring the economy, renewing the growth model, and improving production capacity and competitiveness.

Localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions need to coordinate well in regional planning, coordination and association in building common development orientations.

Localities need to coordinate to solve regional planning problems, clarify linkages, general development orientations of the region and specific orientations of each province and city.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of the localities. At the same time, he suggested that localities in the region continue to strongly promote their own strengths, promote socio-economic development towards improving efficiency, quality and sustainability.

The focus is on promoting FDI attraction, continuing to invest, upgrading socio-economic infrastructure, promoting innovation... Regarding economic structure, in addition to focusing on industries that represent the trend of the times, it is necessary to pay attention to developing according to a harmonious natural economic model, an independent, autonomous economy, a knowledge-based economy, a creative economy based on promoting natural values ​​and heritage values.

This reality requires revolutionary changes, changes in economic models, growth quality, and sustainable development so that domestic enterprises can participate and affirm their position in regional and global value chains; and pay attention to training high-quality human resources suitable to market requirements.

In addition to promulgating a system of planning and laws covering all fields, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said it is necessary to continue reviewing and building synchronous and unified policy institutions, promptly updating rapidly changing practical issues, creating space for innovative and creative thinking.

In the coming years, the localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions will be more closely connected in terms of transport infrastructure thanks to the policy of synchronous investment in vertical and horizontal expressways, high-speed railways, development of inland waterways, aviation, etc.

From now until 2030, with a vision to 2045, localities in the Central region need to focus on breakthrough development in the fields of science and technology, artificial intelligence, training high-quality human resources, and strengthening state management.
