Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed and issued an Official Dispatch on overcoming the vehicle rollover incident caused by floods at Cu Lan Tourist Area, Lac Duong District, Lam Dong Province.

Telegram sent to the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control; Ministers of Foreign Affairs , Public Security, Culture, Sports and Tourism; Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee.

The dispatch stated: On October 24, 2023, at Cu Lan Tourist Area in Lac Duong District, Lam Dong Province, a localized flood occurred, causing a car to overturn, killing 4 Korean tourists and injuring 1 Vietnamese person. The Prime Minister sent his deepest condolences to the relatives of the victims, and requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to continue to direct and deploy incident response work, focusing on the following tasks:

1. The Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee shall coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to continue directing and implementing necessary tasks to quickly overcome the consequences of the incident; direct the investigation, determine the cause, clarify responsibilities, and strictly handle violations (if any) in accordance with the provisions of law.

2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to its assigned functions, tasks and authority, shall preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and relevant agencies to promptly handle related issues and support funeral arrangements for the victims in accordance with the provisions of law.

3. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall promptly coordinate with the People's Committee of Lam Dong province and relevant agencies to promptly handle and overcome the consequences of the above incident in accordance with regulations; promptly direct and guide localities nationwide to strengthen measures to ensure security and safety for tourists.

4. The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control monitors natural disaster situations, proactively directs and urges localities to deploy natural disaster prevention, control and overcoming consequences within its authority.

5. The Government Office monitors and urges relevant ministries, agencies and localities to implement the Official Dispatch according to assigned functions and tasks.
