Previously, on November 8, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also issued Decision No. 2941 regulating electricity prices, promulgating retail electricity prices for groups of electricity users and retail electricity prices for electricity retailers. Accordingly, the retail price of household electricity in 6 levels from 1,728 - 3,015 VND/kWh, increased to 1,806 - 3,151 VND/kWh (excluding VAT). With this adjustment, on average, a household using 50 kWh per month will pay an additional 3,900 VND on its monthly electricity bill; 100 kWh/month, an increase of 7,900 VND; 200 kWh/month, an increase of 17,200 VND; 300 kWh/month, an increase of 28,900 VND; 400 kWh/month, an increase of 42,000 VND and 500 kWh/month, an increase of 55,600 VND. EVN said that this electricity price adjustment will basically ensure that poor households and policy families are not affected significantly. According to statistics, in 2022, the whole country will have over 1.27 million poor households and social policy households receiving electricity support according to the Government's policy. Poor households and social policy households will continue to receive support according to the provisions of Decision No. 28/2014 of the Prime Minister. In particular, every month, poor households will receive support equivalent to the amount of electricity used by 30 kWh/household/month; social policy households with electricity use of no more than 50 kWh/month will receive support equivalent to the amount of electricity used by 30 kWh/household/month. Previously, the average retail electricity price was adjusted to increase by 3% from May 4, 2023. Thus, since the beginning of the year, EVN has adjusted electricity prices twice, with a total increase of 142.35 VND/kWh.
