The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a decision to announce the adjustment of the slot coordination parameters of Tan Son Nhat International Airport during the peak flight schedule of Winter 2025 and Lunar New Year 2026.

Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam decided to adjust the coordination parameters of the runway and landing areas and flight operations services at Tan Son Nhat International Airport during the peak period of the 2025 Winter flight schedule (from 7:00 on October 26, 2025 to 6:59 on February 2, 2026) in the time slots from 6:00 to 23:59 to 44 flights/hour.

Adjusting the parameters for coordinating the runway and landing areas and flight operations services (local time) during the peak period of Lunar New Year 2026 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (from 7:00 on February 2 to 23:59 on March 3, 2026), i.e. from December 15 to January 15, the time slots from 6:00 to 23:59 are 46 flights/hour; the time slots from 00:00 to 5:59 are 42 flights/hour.

Previously, Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO) opened early ticket sales for Lunar New Year 2026.

Accordingly, the peak period lasts from February 2 to March 3, 2026 (ie from December 15 to January 15 of the lunar calendar), with a total of more than 3.5 million seats sold on the entire domestic and international flight network, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period last year.

Peak flights will be concentrated between three major cities, including: Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and key localities such as: Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, Quy Nhon, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc..., in which, the number of seats supplied on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route increased by nearly 18%, the Ho Chi Minh City-Da Nang route increased by nearly 9%, the flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Hue increased from 9-13% over the same period.

To increase passenger options, Vietnam Airlines continues to arrange more flights in the late evening and early morning. During the 2026 Lunar New Year, the proportion of night flights will account for nearly 20% of the total number of flights. Exploiting this additional time slot helps optimize operational capacity, reduce daytime pressure and create more flexibility for passengers.

Vietnam Airlines Group will continue to monitor market demand, balance aircraft resources and allocate slots for the next sales rounds, helping people more conveniently plan their travel during Tet.

Vietjet Air opens early sale of 2.5 million flight tickets from February 3 to March 2, 2026 (ie December 16, year of the Dragon to January 13, year of the Horse)./.
