On October 25, Con Dao National Park announced that since the beginning of the sea turtle breeding season (April 2025) until now, the functional forces of Con Dao National Park have safely relocated nearly 1,800 turtle egg nests to incubation lakes on beaches in Con Dao. Of these, 1,500 nests have hatched and about 120,000 baby turtles have been released back to the sea healthy. About 300 remaining nests are expected to hatch gradually from now until the end of December.

According to the Con Dao National Park Management Board, the sea turtle breeding season starts from April to November every year. Con Dao is the main breeding ground for green turtles (also known as green turtles), accounting for 90% of the total number of green turtles laying eggs in Vietnam's seas. On average, each year, more than 600 mother turtles gather on the sandy beaches of Con Dao National Park to nest and lay eggs, with more than 150,000 baby turtles rescued and released into the sea, with a successful hatching rate of up to 87%.
In 2024, Con Dao National Park recorded 387 mother sea turtles that laid 1,161 nests, with 111,986 eggs on beaches in Con Dao. According to the Park's forecast, in 2025, the number of sea turtles returning to nest will be higher than the previous year.

It is known that over the years, sea turtle protection activities have been a remarkable success of Con Dao National Park, contributing greatly to the cause of conserving the world 's endangered marine species. Sea turtle conservation work has the participation of the community including rangers, volunteers, businesses, tourists... When the baby turtles return to the ocean, they bring with them the hope of extending the miraculous survival journey of sea turtles.
