Training on implementing medical history checks and catch-up vaccinations for children entering preschool and primary schools

In order to prepare for the medical history check and vaccination for children entering school in the coming time, from October 15 to October 27, 2025, the Provincial Center for Disease Control organized direct and online training courses for leaders and officers in charge of the vaccination program at all Regional Health Centers and Commune and Ward Health Stations in the province.

At the training courses, lecturers from the Provincial Center for Disease Control provided a variety of contents such as: The situation of school vaccination implementation in the world and in the country; Results of implementing history checks and catch-up vaccinations for children entering the 2023-2024 school year in some localities, advantages and difficulties in the implementation process; Instructions on procedures, forms and reports for checking vaccination history, making lists of children needing catch-up vaccinations, managing and compiling data; Procedures for collecting, checking, entering data and synthesizing reports for medical staff at all levels... In addition, the team of lecturers also answered questions related to the implementation work, helping students master the expertise and practice effectively.

Through the training, medical staff in charge of the vaccination program across the province have been fully equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills, ensuring that the work of checking, reviewing medical history and giving catch-up vaccinations for children entering school is implemented effectively, safely and consistently.

This activity contributes to increasing the vaccine coverage rate in the Expanded Immunization Program, proactively preventing infectious diseases in schools, and at the same time protecting and improving the health of children and communities in Lao Cai province.
