Focus on emergency response to heavy rains and floods in Central Vietnam.

On October 27, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a directive from the Prime Minister instructing ministries, agencies, and localities to focus on emergency response and khắc phục the consequences of floods and heavy rains in the Central region.

According to forecasts from the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, there is a high risk of widespread deep flooding in the cities of Hue and Da Nang ; flash floods, landslides, and mudslides on slopes, especially in mountainous areas of provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai.

To proactively prevent, avoid, and respond to the situation, ensuring the safety of people's lives and minimizing property damage, the Prime Minister requests the chairmen of the People's Committees of the provinces and cities of Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai , and relevant ministries to continue focusing on directing the decisive and effective implementation of measures to prevent, avoid, and respond to heavy rains, floods, flash floods, landslides, and mudslides.

The Prime Minister requested the chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to review and identify areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, and deep flooding in order to promptly warn people and proactively evacuate them to safe places; deploy forces and means to control, guide, and support traffic; and arrange rescue and relief forces, especially in areas at risk of being cut off or isolated due to landslides and flooding, to be ready to respond when adverse situations occur.

Local authorities will decide on school closures based on the specific situation and implement measures to ensure the safety of people's lives; ensuring that absolutely no one suffers from hunger, cold, lack of clean water, or lack of medical support when sick...

The Minister of Construction directed the immediate implementation of response measures to protect transportation infrastructure and structures; ensuring traffic safety and construction activities, especially the safety of people and vehicles at construction sites of expressways during the period affected by floods and heavy rain.

The Minister of Industry and Trade directed that the safety of hydroelectric dams, power systems, and industrial production be ensured, and damage caused by floods and heavy rains be minimized.

The Ministries of National Defence and Public Security are proactively directing units stationed in the area to review plans and deploy forces and resources to be ready to support localities in implementing evacuation and relocation of residents, responding to floods and heavy rains, and conducting rescue operations when required.
