Quang Ngai fishing boat ran aground in the waters of Ly Son island

A fishing boat of Quang Ngai fishermen ran aground in the waters of Ly Son island while moving to the mainland. Rescue work is currently being urgently carried out.

On the morning of July 21, information from the Sa Ky Port Border Guard Station ( Quang Ngai Border Guard), at about 2:30 a.m. on July 21, received news that fishing boat QNg-92096 TS was stranded, about 3-4 nautical miles southeast of Ly Son Island.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Sa Ky Port Border Guard Station proactively contacted the captain to grasp the situation of the incident, and mobilized the fishing boat QNg-96627 TS of Mr. Tran Bien (52 years old, residing in Ly Son special zone) to move to the scene to support the rescue. However, due to the sea area having big waves and strong southerly winds, the rescue vehicle has not yet been able to approach the distressed vessel.

The stranded fishing boat is 18.7m long, 430 CV, departed Tinh Ky port, Quang Ngai province on July 2, with 4 crew members on board, registered for trawling in the Hoang Sa sea area. While moving to the mainland, about 3-4 nautical miles southeast of Ly Son island, it unfortunately hit a reef and ran aground.

Currently the health of the crew on board is normal.
