This is a large-scale annual community cultural event, aiming to preserve and spread national identity to the community of more than 634,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Japan and international friends.
In recent years, Vietnamese Tet in Japan has become a familiar cultural destination, attracting the attention of local authorities and partner organizations.
At the 2025 opening ceremony, the event was honored to welcome Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Nakano Hiromasa; Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha; Mayor of Amagasaki City Matsumoto Shin and representatives of many Japanese organizations and businesses.
The presence of high-ranking delegates shows respect for the Vietnamese community, and affirms the role of Vietnamese Tet as a bridge promoting people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
With the theme “Shining Vietnam”, Tet Viet 2026 emphasizes the spirit of returning to the roots, preserving traditions and honoring the contributions of overseas Vietnamese in the context of international integration.
The festival space is designed to harmoniously combine tradition and modernity, giving Japanese and international people a vivid experience of the traditional Vietnamese New Year.

Within the framework of the event, many unique cultural activities will be introduced such as: folk art performances (xoan singing, cheo, tuong, cai luong), folk games, Tet culinary space with banh chung, pho, bun cha, broken rice; exhibition of ao dai, conical hats, silk...
