Awarding ceremony of the writing contest "Fairy Tale"

Within the framework of the award ceremony of the writing contest “Fairy Tale” held at Kim Dong Publishing House, Hanoi, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 23 excellent authors with 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 9 third prizes, and 6 consolation prizes.

The Fairytale Flower Children's Story Writing Contest is an annual activity to discover and nurture writers for Vietnamese children, while contributing to expanding the space for young literary creation.

This year’s competition runs from February 10 to July 31, with three categories: Primary, Secondary and Free. Entries go through four rounds of judging: Preliminary, Final, Top 15 and Final.

The organizers said that after 6 months, with 5 times of organizing the workshop "Pen tells us", the contest received 4,161 works from 1,604 contestants of all ages from all over the country and abroad.

Author Nguyen Hoai Phong won the excellent prize in the Freedom category.

Commenting on the quality of this year's contest, the Organizing Committee said that the 8th year of the contest has seen many important changes, such as the number of entries has increased dramatically, the quality of the compositions has improved, and especially the diversity in tone, topics, and expression of the authors.

From thousands of entries, 17 best works were selected to be edited and illustrated in the anthology “Fairy Tales - Vol. 8”. According to the Organizing Committee, this is not only a reward but also an opportunity for the work to live with readers and spread the beautiful values ​​of children's literature.

This year's 3 First Prizes belong to: Truong Vo Ha Anh (10 years old, Nghe An) with Xoi Dau Planet in the Primary category; Nguyen Thu Huyen Trang (13 years old, Hanoi ) with My Summer in the Secondary category; Nguyen Hoai Phong (19 years old, Tay Ninh) with Sadness-Canceling Application in the Freedom category. In which, author Nguyen Hoai Phong was awarded the Special Prize.

Third prize: "Magically turning into a peanut!" - Tu Thi Phuong, 1995, Ho Chi Minh City.

“Banana cake with red bean filling” - Nguyen Thanh Thao Nhi, 2007, Lao Cai.
