"Don't let it happen again. Betting and fraud websites are rampant in the SEA Games stands, through the images of beautiful girls," Thailand's Matichon newspaper headlined.

The article reflects the situation of advertisements for betting websites - which are banned in Thailand - appearing in the stands of football matches at the 33rd SEA Games.

"An issue that has become the subject of criticism during the live broadcast of the match, when the camera panned to a group of beautiful female football fans.

This group of female fans were clearly waving scarves advertising online gambling websites, a form of scam.

The live broadcast on television has caused discomfort to the public watching live. Because gambling and scam websites are increasingly popular in Thailand," Matichon newspaper wrote.

According to Matichon , right after this match, the Center for Protection of Sponsors' Rights of SEA Games 33 - organized by Thailand - intervened, ensuring that "similar images will not appear a second time" at SEA Games 33.

According to Thai press, it is quite common for young, beautiful girls to hold posters advertising betting and fraud websites during football matches in this country, despite strict censorship.

Accordingly, these girls often carry posters with pictures of football teams with many fans like Vietnam, attracting the surrounding audience as well as television cameras thanks to their eye-catching appearance.
