Authority to sign confirmation of clinical nutrition practice content

(Chinhphu.vn) - Ms. Pham Thao (HCMC) is a bachelor of nutrition, working in the nutrition department of a public hospital, the head of the department is a doctor with a certificate of practice in internal medicine so she cannot sign the confirmation of practice. Ms. Thao asked, can she ask the hospital to issue a certificate of work (full 9 months) to add to the application for a license to practice clinical nutrition?

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:

According to Article 129 of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP, the clinical nutrition practice period must be confirmed at a facility with a suitable scope of professional activities and the practice instructor must meet the following conditions:

From January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026: The practice instructor must be a practitioner whose scope of practice is appropriate to the content of the practice instruction or a practitioner with work experience appropriate to the content of the practice instruction of 36 months or more.

Thus, the head of the department is a doctor with a certificate to practice internal medicine but has work experience suitable for the content of the practice instruction, then he/she has the right to sign to confirm the practice content (note that to verify the experience of the practitioner, you can supplement the decision to appoint the head of the department for the instructor in your case).
