Buakaw Banchamek will make his boxing debut against Kouzi Tanaka (Japan) on October 19th at the Martial Arts EXPO. To prepare for this fight, Buakaw Banchamek has been in Japan training with Kota Miura, the son of football legend Kazuyoshi Miura.
Two years ago, Kota Miura (born in 2002) suffered a defeat against Buakaw Banchamek in an exhibition match in Thailand. Despite the loss, Kota Miura later became close friends with Buakaw Banchamek. On his personal Instagram page, Kota Miura often shares photos of himself with the Muay Thai legend.
Today, Kota Miura posted a series of photos of himself training in boxing with Buakaw Banchamek and wrote about the Muay Thai legend: “Sometimes he’s a teacher, sometimes a coach, sometimes a sparring partner, sometimes an older brother. But I’ve always had respect and admiration for him in my heart.”
Buakaw Banchamek spars with Kota Miura
The Japanese fighter added humorously about sparring with Buakaw Banchamek: " And sometimes I find him really scary too ." Most of the photos shared by Kota Miura show the Japanese fighter being outmatched by Buakaw Banchamek's strikes.
Kota Miura once caused a sensation because of his handsome face. Many Japanese fans regret that Kota Miura did not follow in his father's footsteps in football, nor become an idol, but instead pursued a career in martial arts.
Kota Miura felt pain from Buakaw Banchamek's extremely powerful blows.

On his part, Buakaw Banchamek, the 42-year-old fighter, announced his boxing match against Kouzi Tanaka on his personal page. Buakaw Banchamek also briefly wrote that he has competed under the rules of many martial arts such as Muay Thai, kickboxing, shootboxing, bare-knuckle boxing… The legendary Thai fighter expressed confidence in the upcoming fight.
