The Vietnamese women's volleyball team suffered a heartbreaking 2-3 defeat against the Thai women's volleyball team in the SEA Games 33 final on the afternoon of December 15th. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates won the opening set (25/19), but lost in the second and third sets (13/25, 18/25).
The match reached its climax in the fourth set, when Vietnam narrowly won 25/23 to level the score at 2-2. In the decisive fifth set, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team had many opportunities to win but unfortunately missed them, ultimately losing 23/25 and suffering a 2-3 defeat against Thailand.
