Strengthening solidarity between Vietnamese and Vietnamese military women

On the afternoon of November 11th, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held the closing ceremony of the training course for female officers of the Lao People's Army. Authorized by the Head of the General Political Department, Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Head of the Women's Committee of the Army - chaired the meeting.  

In accordance with the 2024 Cooperation Plan between the Ministries of National Defence of Vietnam and Laos, a training course for female officers of the Lao People's Army was held from October 18th to November 11th for 20 female officers of the Lao People's Army, led by Major General Phay Von-It Tha But. The training course received the attention and guidance of the Ministers of National Defence and the Heads of the General Political Departments of the armies of Vietnam and Laos; and the coordination and assistance of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of National Defence, functional agencies under the General Political Department, and directly the Office and Unit 871.

The training course introduced 10 topics on women's affairs and women's work in the Vietnam People's Army. The organizers, instructors, and participating officers actively and enthusiastically studied and exchanged ideas, identifying similarities and new issues in women's affairs in the two countries' armed forces. In addition, an important part of the course included practical visits to observe women's work activities in the Vietnam People's Army at several units under: the General Department of Defense Industry, the General Department of Logistics, Military Region 2, Military Region 4, the Air Defense - Air Force Command, the Armored Corps, and the Special Forces Command.

During the program, the delegation of female officers from the Lao People's Army participated in a seminar at the Women's Affairs Department of the Lao People's Army and attended the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2024 Lullaby, Folk Song, and Traditional Music Festival for Women in the Lao People's Army at the Army Music and Dance Theatre… The theoretical and practical issues provided in the program helped the officers participating in the training to draw lessons and effectively apply them to women's work and the development of the women's movement in the Lao People's Army.

The training course was successfully organized with planned learning activities, field trips, and exchanges; the program was scientifically and meticulously organized; coordination and cooperation with agencies, units, and instructors were ensured; and thorough preparation and smooth implementation were guaranteed.

The training course concluded, leaving a positive impression and a warm sense of solidarity between the women of the Vietnam People's Army and the women of the Lao People's Army. The activities in the training program contributed to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, and the People's Armies of the two countries.
