Vietnam ice cream market welcomes new brand of Morinaga Milk

Morinaga Milk's famous ice cream brands sold in Japan (Pino, PARM and MOW) will be available at Aeon Vietnam stores in Ho Chi Minh City from early November.

Morinaga Milk's ice cream introduction event in Ho Chi Minh City attracted a lot of attention from consumers.

Morinaga Nutritional Foods Vietnam Joint Stock Company (MNFV) under Morinaga Milk Group will introduce to the Vietnamese market three major ice cream brands that the group has produced and traded in Japan, including Pino, PARM and MOW.

Develop new sales channels

The size of the Vietnamese ice cream market reached about 210.67 million USD (equivalent to about 5,200 billion VND) in 2022 and is expected to expand at an annual growth rate of about 8%, up to 405.51 million USD (equivalent to about 10,100 billion VND) in 2030.

MNFV will expand its product portfolio by leveraging the development technology, expertise and brand that Morinaga Milk has built over many years in the Japanese market.

In addition, the company will develop new sales channels to strengthen its business in the Vietnamese market, where future growth is forecast.

Launching new ice cream products

The product lines that will be launched to Vietnamese consumers include Pino ice cream, PARM chocolate ice cream, PARM matcha ice cream, MOW vanilla ice cream and MOW matcha ice cream. All of these products are made in Japan.

New ice cream product from Morinaga Milk brand

As an ice cream that was produced and launched in 1976, Pino is a long-standing brand that has been loved in Japan for 50 years.

This is a chocolate-covered ice cream treat for both adults and children. The name "Pino" comes from its small and adorable cone-like shape, and is a play on the Italian word Pino, which means "pine cone."

Interestingly, the total annual sales volume in Japan is about 1.3 billion (the brand's total shipments in fiscal 2023), enough to circle the earth. This proves how popular Pino ice cream is in Japan. Volume: 6 pieces, 60ml.

The second product line is PARM, a premium ice cream aimed at adults, with a smooth coating and ice cream inside that melts at the same time, giving a wonderful feeling when enjoyed.

This product has the highest estimated sales value among ice cream bars/sticks in Japan, with sales in 2023 reaching over 4 billion units. Total sales as of fiscal 2023 are over 4 billion units. Volume 90ml.

Premium ice cream lines with unique flavors

MOW is the third product line in this introduction. This is a cup of ice cream with a unique combination of flavors, rich in milk flavor. The vanilla flavor has been awarded the highest award - "Three Stars" in the Superior Taste Award for four consecutive years by the world- famous International Taste Institute. Volume: 140ml.

Ice cream products distributed by Morinaga Nutritional Foods Vietnam will officially be available in Ho Chi Minh City from early November. Customers will be able to buy the products at 199 stores of Aeon Vietnam Group (Aeon, Aeon Citimart, Ministop). The product price ranges from 32,000 - 35,000 VND.

Since its establishment in 1917 in Japan, Morinaga Milk has been operating its business with the support of its stakeholders.

The Group currently owns and markets a range of products including milk, beverages, yoghurt, ice cream and cheese, as well as formula milk, liquid foods for patients undergoing treatment and patients with difficulty swallowing.
