Three traffic routes with a total length of nearly 1 km in Xuan An town (Nghi Xuan - Ha Tinh ) are shabby, affecting the town's roadmap to achieving civilized urban standards this year.

The Doi Roc dirt road in Residential Area 7 (Xuan An town) is 200m long. "Living in the town but having to travel on a narrow dirt road is very inconvenient. Investing in upgrading the road is necessary to create favorable conditions for people to travel and develop the economy , contributing to building an increasingly spacious and clean town", said Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc - a resident on this road.

There is only one household on the whole route, so mobilizing people's strength is difficult.

Mr. Phan Xuan Thao - Head of TDP 7 said: The group has nearly 3 km of concreted roads, currently the only dirt road in Doi Roc has not been upgraded.

The other routes are all in densely populated areas, so mobilizing resources from the people is quite convenient. However, this route is only inhabited by Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc's family. Meanwhile, the cost to concrete the road is about 700 million VND.

Similarly, the Ruong Ho Mong Nam route in Residential Area 7 and Residential Area 8A also has a nearly 400m long section that has degraded due to frequent flooding...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy (living on the road) said: For many years, my family had to spend tens of millions of dong to buy materials to upgrade the road surface, prevent flooding, and facilitate travel. However, after a while, during the rainy season, the road is damaged again.

The Sang Dang residential road in Ward 4 has a length of nearly 300m and has been graded but has not yet met urban traffic standards as prescribed. There are 7 households on both sides of this road, and their lives are difficult, so mobilizing resources to invest in upgrading is quite difficult.

It is known that according to regulations, 100% of planned roads in the town must be paved with asphalt or concrete to meet urban traffic criteria (criterion number 2).

Up to this point, the civilized urban criteria of Xuan An town have basically achieved 70 - 80% progress such as: planning; environment and food safety; information, communication; culture, sports; health, education; political system and responsibilities of the government have been basically completed.

The urban traffic criterion alone faces many difficulties due to the lack of investment resources for the above 3 routes. This is one of the hard criteria, so to reach the civilized urban standard by the end of 2023, Xuan An town must invest in and upgrade these 3 routes.

Mr. Bui Duy Tuyen - Vice Chairman of Xuan An Town People's Committee said: According to the total estimated budget for upgrading the above 3 routes, nearly 2.5 billion VND is needed. Meanwhile, there is currently no support policy for building a civilized urban area; these routes are sparsely populated, so mobilizing people's strength is very difficult. The local government has also proposed to the district to consider supporting funding so that the locality can soon complete the criteria on urban traffic in the roadmap for building a civilized urban area.
