On the afternoon of April 5, Head of the Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Nguyen Van Huong said that during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday (from April 6-7), the midlands, plains, mountainous areas of the North and North Central regions will have rain, light rain, showers and scattered thunderstorms.

Specifically, the weather in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province on April 6 will have showers (80% probability) with temperatures ranging from 21-25 degrees Celsius. On April 7, there will be rain (75% probability) with temperatures ranging from 20-24 degrees Celsius with temperatures ranging from 22-26 degrees Celsius.

In the Central and South Central regions, it is sunny during the day, with some rain in the late afternoon and at night. In the Central Highlands and the South, it is sunny during the day, with some hot weather; in the South, it is hot.

On the night of April 5 and April 6, the mountainous areas of the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall of 15-30mm, and some places experiencing over 50mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Localized heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas. Warning level 1 of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning and hail.

Regarding the hot weather in the Southeast region, on April 6-7, the Southeast region will experience hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-36 degrees Celsius, in some places above 36 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranges from 45-50%.

Some notes and recommendations

The heat wave in the Southeast region is likely to last until around April 10. Warning level 1 of natural disaster risk due to heat wave “The temperature forecast in the heat wave bulletins and the actual temperature felt outdoors may differ by 2-4 degrees, or even higher depending on the conditions of the buffer surface such as concrete and asphalt,” Mr. Nguyen Van Huong noted.

Due to the effects of hot weather combined with low humidity in the air, there is a risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased demand for electricity and the risk of forest fires.

Regarding thunderstorms, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that this is the time of the transition season, and regions across the country need to be on guard against the possibility of dangerous weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and hail.

To prepare well for the holiday season, with the above weather patterns, hydrometeorological experts recommend that people proactively monitor weather forecasts closely to have suitable travel and entertainment routes during the holiday.

Tourists planning to participate in the Hung Temple Festival and travel to Phu Tho during this time should remember to prepare a thin jacket, sneakers or non-slip sandals to move more easily in wet conditions.

Showers can appear suddenly, so visitors should prepare a folding umbrella or raincoat. The Hung Temple area has mountainous terrain, the path can be slippery when it rains, visitors need to pay attention to safety when climbing mountains, walking to the temple to avoid slipping and falling.

In case of prolonged heavy rain, visitors may consider changing their itinerary, avoiding areas prone to flooding or slippery roads. Instead, visitors may choose to visit historical sites and indoor museums to ensure safety. In addition, cold weather at night and early morning can affect health, especially for the elderly and children. Visitors may bring essential medicines and related items in case of need.../.
