(CLO) Kon Tum Provincial Police are investigating and verifying the identities of individuals who spread fake child kidnapping information, causing public panic.

On February 21, information from the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department - Kon Tum Provincial Police said that the unit is investigating and verifying cases of posting false information related to child kidnapping cases in the province.

Previously, on social networks, there appeared images with articles about child kidnappings that occurred in Dak Bla commune and Vinh Quang commune (Kon Tum city, Kon Tum province), warning parents with young children to be careful.

This information was quickly shared widely, causing public concern, confusing many parents and negatively affecting community psychology.

However, after checking and verifying, the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention - Kon Tum Provincial Police confirmed that the information about the child kidnapping in the area was completely false. These were false rumors, not true, but were spread at a dizzying speed by social network accounts, causing social disorder.

Regarding the above incident, the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention is actively coordinating with relevant units to investigate and identify the individuals spreading false information.
