Nationwide recall of 5 Essence brand cosmetic products of a distribution company due to violations

The Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health has just issued a document suspending the circulation and requesting the nationwide recall of 5 imported cosmetic products under the Essence brand, organized by BSSC Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Group Company Limited, which is responsible for bringing the products to the market.

One of the Isamen brand products distributed by BSSC Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Group Company Limited was requested to be recalled.

The Drug Administration has just sent a document to the health departments of provinces and centrally run cities; BSSC Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Group Company Limited (Hanoi) regarding the suspension of circulation and recall of cosmetics in circulation with formulas that are not consistent with the published records.

Accordingly, the Drug Administration Department requested to suspend circulation and recall nationwide 5 products organized by BSSC Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Group Company Limited, responsible for bringing the products to the market (business address declared in the declaration file: No. 144, Quynh Alley, Hanoi City, current business address: 1st floor, No. 8, Alley 89, Dam Quang Trung Street, Hanoi City).

5 products suspended from circulation and recalled nationwide include:

Slightly Dark Beauty Essence product (registration number: 118458/20/CBMP-QLD);

Eijun Beauty Essence product (declaration receipt number: 118461/20/CBMP-QLD);

Element Repair Essence product (registration number: 118463/20/CBMP-QLD);

Product Licorice Extract Solution (declaration receipt number: 118469/20/CBMP-QLD);

Beauty Skin Repair Mask product (registration number: 118470/20/CBMP-QLD).

All were issued with a declaration form dated 11-2-2020.

Reason for recall: The product formula in circulation does not match the published records. These 5 cosmetics are advertised with the functions of fading dark spots, restoring skin, restoring masks, whitening...

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the health departments of provinces and centrally run cities to notify cosmetic businesses and users in their areas to immediately stop selling and using the above 5 products and return them to the product suppliers.

At the same time, recall violating products; inspect and monitor units implementing this notice; handle violating units according to current regulations.

For BSSC Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Group Company Limited, the Drug Administration Department requires sending a recall notice to the distributors and users of the above 5 products.

Receive returned products from businesses and recall all products that do not meet regulations; Receive returned products from businesses and recall and destroy 5 products that do not meet regulations.

Send a recall report of the above 5 products to the Drug Administration before August 30. The Drug Administration requests the Hanoi Department of Health to supervise BSSC Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Group Company Limited in recalling the above 5 products that do not meet regulations.

According to current regulations, when a product is released to the market that does not match the product declaration, it will be recalled and suspended from circulation nationwide.

For imported products, there are currently many import and distribution companies. Therefore, the recall only applies to products distributed to the market by BSSC Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Group Company Limited.

Products of the same brand but not distributed by this company will not be recalled.
