The People's Committee of Sa Pa town ( Lao Cai province) has just issued a decision approving the plan for organizing, managing, and collecting entrance fees to the Fansipan peak area.
Accordingly, from January 1, 2025, all Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals visiting the Fansipan peak area will have to pay an entrance fee. The fee is 10,000 VND for those 16 years and older, and 5,000 VND for children aged 6 to under 16.
Children under 6 years old, people with severe disabilities as defined by regulations, Party and State leaders, special guests with the approval of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, and students from primary, secondary, and high schools in the town participating in annual field trips with registration… are exempt from entrance fees.
Those eligible for cultural benefits, the elderly, and those with severe disabilities as defined by law are entitled to a 50% reduction in entrance fees.
According to the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, collecting entrance fees to the Fansipan peak area will contribute to increasing the town's budget revenue; creating conditions for funding environmental sanitation, organizing preservation, restoration, and promotion of the scenic value, and developing cultural tourism .
The People's Committee of Sa Pa town has also approved a plan for organizing, managing, and collecting entrance fees for the Cat Cat waterfall scenic spot in Hoang Lien commune, with similar fees.
