On December 29th, representatives from the People's Committee of Sa Pa town announced that from January 1st, 2025, the locality will begin charging fees for tourists visiting the Fansipan peak area and Cat Cat waterfall.
According to a notice dated December 26th from the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, from January 1st, 2025, the locality will collect entrance fees from organizations and individuals (including both Vietnamese and foreign visitors) visiting the Fansipan peak area (Hoang Lien commune, Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province) and Cat Cat waterfall.
The fee for people aged 16 and above is 10,000 VND per person per visit, and for children aged 6 to under 16, it is 5,000 VND per person per visit.
Those exempt from entrance fees include children aged 6 and under, people with severe disabilities, Party and State leaders, special guests with the approval of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, and students from primary, secondary, and high schools in the town on field trips…
Those eligible for a 50% discount on entrance fees include individuals entitled to cultural benefits as stipulated by the Prime Minister , senior citizens, and people with severe disabilities as defined by law…
The People's Committee of Sa Pa town will deploy 3 toll stations with surveillance cameras and 4 barriers. Specifically, one toll station with surveillance cameras and barriers will be installed on the sidewalk in front of the Sun Plaza building and fences will be erected around the Sun Plaza building; one toll station with surveillance cameras and barriers will be installed on Nguyen Chi Thanh street in front of the ticket gate to the Fansipan cable car station; 70 meters of fence will be installed on Nguyen Chi Thanh street in the area where the toll station is located; one toll station with surveillance cameras and barriers will sell additional tickets and control tickets at the staircase leading to the summit of Fansipan (on the right); and one ticket control barrier will be installed at the staircase leading to the summit of Fansipan (on the left).
The two famous tourist attractions subject to the aforementioned entrance fees are located within a tourism complex managed by investors: Fansipan Cable Car Tourism Service Co., Ltd. and Cat Cat Tourism Co., Ltd. These companies are also collecting service fees from visitors for using the infrastructure and services they have invested in.
