On July 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the regular Government meeting in June and the Government's online conference with localities. At Long An , the conference was attended by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut, and leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the socio-economic situation achieved many important results, better than the same period in 2023 in most areas. Accordingly, GDP growth in the second quarter reached 6.93%, in the first 6 months of the year reached 6.42%, exceeding the set scenario, a high level in the region and in the world. The macro economy was maintained stable, inflation was controlled, major balances were ensured; social security and people's lives were improved; political security and social order and safety were basically well ensured; foreign affairs were promoted, the prestige and position of our country continued to be raised.
In addition to the achievements, the Prime Minister emphasized that there are still many shortcomings, limitations, and problems, such as high inflation pressure, difficulties in production and business; legal and management problems and bottlenecks, etc. still exist.
The Prime Minister requested that ministries and branches need to have appropriate, feasible and effective solutions to direct and operate in the remaining 6 months of 2024. Ministries, branches and localities need to make great efforts and determination with the spirit of defining "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear implementation time, clear efficiency, clear products", strengthen urging, inspection and evaluation when implementing solutions, ensuring efficiency, creating important premises for victory in 2025.
