The Vietnamese women's team has made a splash by qualifying for the 2023 World Cup finals, by finishing 5th at the 2022 Asian Cup. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are preparing carefully with the goal of coming to the biggest football festival on the planet to prove the strength of Vietnamese women's football.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh encouraged: "The Vietnamese women's team competing at the 2023 World Cup should not put too much pressure on themselves, just relax. Of course, in football everyone wants to win, but try to fight for yourself first, fight with all your might for the flag and try for the spirit of sportsmanship .
The Vietnamese women's team does not have the advantage in terms of physique, and the opponents are one and a half times taller than us. However, in return, the Vietnamese players have their own advantages, especially agility and dexterity. In the immediate future, to prepare for the World Cup, the Vietnamese women's team needs to further improve their physical strength. I suggest that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Vietnam Football Federation, create the best conditions for the players. Coach Mai Duc Chung will take care of the professional work. I wish the Australian team will win the 2023 Women's World Cup after reaching the quarter-finals three times."
