Agreeing with these proposals, the Thai Prime Minister hopes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in trade, investment, tourism, infrastructure and local connectivity. He also suggested that Vietnam consider opening more direct flights to Thailand.

At the United Nations headquarters on the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of the 78th United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam values ​​and supports the central role of the United Nations in the global governance system, in order to respond to current great common challenges.

Vietnam also pledged to actively contribute to the major priorities of the 78th General Assembly, including consolidating peace through enhancing trust, promoting cooperation, reducing tensions between major countries, promoting solidarity and multilateralism, etc.

With the view that solving global challenges requires a global approach, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is determined to respond to climate change and strive to fulfill its commitments to bring net emissions to "0" by 2050.

In addition, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam has just approved the Power Plan VIII with strong commitments to sustainable energy development and will soon announce the Resource Mobilization Plan to implement the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

Sharing Vietnam's history of overcoming war and difficulties to transform, develop, and eliminate poverty, the Prime Minister said that in the current context of food security instability in the world, Vietnam still ensures rice exports, contributing to stabilizing global food security.

President of the United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis shared his impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements.

Believing that Vietnam has many achievements in helping people escape poverty and develop the country, Mr. Dennis Francis suggested that Vietnam share this experience with the world.

The President of the General Assembly agreed to cooperate with Vietnam to promote compliance with the United Nations Charter, international law and multilateralism.
