Prime Minister Trudeau survives second confidence vote

Canada's House of Commons voted 207-121 to reject an attempt by the opposition Conservative Party to remove Trudeau from office. The Conservatives criticized Canada's carbon tax and rising prices, but failed because they needed support from all other opposition parties.

The Bloc Quebecois backs Mr Trudeau on raising pensions for seniors, and the left-wing New Democratic Party (NDP) may continue to support him to keep him in office if it helps their own chances in the future.

Bloc Quebecois is also demanding concessions from the ruling Liberal Party in exchange for its support in the Canadian Parliament .
