On the afternoon of June 24, in Hanoi , Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam Ito Naoki, on the occasion of the Ambassador's new term of office in Vietnam.

Expressing his joy at welcoming Ambassador Ito Naoki to the common home of national solidarity, Mr. Do Van Chien sent his best wishes to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam.

Briefly introducing to Ambassador Ito Naoki the position, functions and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the current period, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized the role of social supervision and criticism activities; gathering and synthesizing opinions and recommendations of voters and people nationwide to reflect to competent agencies; participating in developing friendship and cooperation with people of countries around the world through people-to-people diplomacy and work on overseas Vietnamese.

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front was pleased that the Vietnam-Japan relationship has recently had strong and comprehensive developments with high political trust. Along with that, economic cooperation between the two countries has achieved many positive developments.

Japan continues to be Vietnam’s leading economic partner and its largest ODA partner. At the same time, the two countries are expanding cooperation to new areas such as energy transition, green transition, semiconductor technology, etc.

The field of people-to-people exchange is increasingly deepening. The Vietnamese community in Japan currently has more than 560,000 people, the Japanese community in Vietnam is about 23,000 people, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of each country, being an important bridge to help strengthen the affection and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien hopes that during his term of office, Ambassador Ito Naoki will play the role of a bridge to further develop the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; contribute to connecting Japan to continue to create conditions to promote and connect human resources and labor cooperation between the two countries; strengthen the connection, understanding and mutual trust between the people of the two countries through practical and meaningful cultural and people-to-people exchange activities.

Mr. Do Van Chien also hopes that Ambassador Ito Naoki will choose organizations similar to the tasks that the Vietnam Fatherland Front is implementing to promote the establishment of signing, studying, and exchanging delegations.

Thanking the affection and thoughtful reception of the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, Ambassador Ito Naoki hopes that in the coming time, the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam will have many opportunities to coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to realize the suggested contents, thereby making many positive contributions to the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Japan./.
