Promoting entrepreneurship among youth

With the spirit of daring to think and daring to do, the movement of "youth starting a business" in the province is spreading strongly, becoming a source of inspiration and driving force for economic development in many localities. From urban to rural areas and islands, many economic models led by youth have proven to be effective, contributing to job creation, increasing income for young people and actively contributing to the goal of sustainable economic development of the province.

To arouse enthusiasm and promote the spirit of daring to think and dare to do of the youth, the movement "Youth start-up and career" has been widely deployed by the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union, creating a strong influence among the youth of the whole province. From this movement, hundreds of economic models led by youth have been formed, many projects not only bring about clear economic efficiency, but also demonstrate the spirit of innovation, creativity, application of science and technology (KHCN) in production, while at the same time associated with the goal of environmental protection and sustainable development.

The orange growing model of Mr. Le Kha Dai (born in 1994), village 10/10, Van Don Special Zone is a typical example. Starting from 2022, through the process of researching and studying local orange varieties and typical native varieties suitable for the soil and climate conditions of Van Don, Mr. Dai boldly invested in improving the garden area, applying organic planting and care processes, minimizing the use of pesticides. Thanks to that, after more than two years, his orange garden has developed stably, with high productivity and quality, trusted by consumers, opening up a new direction in sustainable agricultural economic development in the locality.

Mr. Dai shared: As a young generation, I always think that to start a successful business, you must dare to think, dare to do, dare to innovate your thinking. At first, starting a business encountered many difficulties, from investment capital to experience in growing and consuming products. But with the determination to pursue to the end, I proactively researched and learned techniques, boldly applied organic farming methods and linked product consumption, gradually stabilizing production and improving economic efficiency. Up to now, the orange tree has not failed the caretakers, giving high yields and creating jobs for people and young people in the area.

Currently, Mr. Dai's orange growing model is developing well, after deducting expenses, the revenue from the orange model reaches about 400 million VND/year. Currently, Mr. Dai is continuing to reinvest, expand the orange growing area and develop some more local specialty trees with high economic value. At the same time, he is carrying out the nursery of seedlings to provide to the people, creating jobs for many youth union members in the area.

The high-tech shrimp farming model of Mr. Pham Van Dung in Van Don special economic zone also brings in revenue of billions of VND each year; the model of growing melons in greenhouses of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu in Dong Trieu ward applies automatic drip irrigation technology, bringing high economic efficiency; the model of developing community tourism associated with OCOP products of the youth group of Luc Hon commune, both preserving ethnic culture and creating stable livelihoods for local people; the model of raising medicinal chickens under the canopy of yellow camellia flowers of Mr. Dam Van Trieu, Ba Che commune brings high economic efficiency; the high-tech organic vegetable growing model of Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, a member of the Youth Union of Binh Khe ward, creates regular jobs for more than 10 local workers with an income of 7-10 million VND/month...

Currently, many economic models led by youth in Quang Ninh province have been widely deployed, bringing practical results. The models not only create jobs, increase income for union members and youth, but also contribute to shifting the rural economic structure, developing production in a green and sustainable direction.

In particular, in recent times, to accompany young people on the path of starting a business, establishing a career, Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union has implemented many practical support programs and activities such as: Consulting, training skills to connect capital sources and product consumption markets; coordinating with departments and branches to organize the contest "Innovative startup ideas - Startup Quang Ninh", creating a playground for young people to demonstrate their abilities and call for investment capital... At the same time, continue to effectively promote the role of the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, Quang Ninh Investment and Startup Club, local Investment and Startup Clubs in solidarity work, gathering members and young people. Many exchange and sharing activities have been organized by the Provincial Investment and Startup Club such as: Sharing startup experiences, startup solutions from promoting local strengths for young people; searching for feasible creative startup ideas to advise and support, mobilizing resources to support youth startup ideas.

In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the Youth Union and Association at all levels coordinated to organize 30 activities to support young people in starting a business for 1,800 youth union members and members; provided job counseling and referrals to over 25,000 youth union members and members; continued to exploit loan sources to support young people in economic development, job creation, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, ensuring increased loan quality and preventing loans to the wrong subjects; the total outstanding loan balance entrusted through the Social Policy Bank is over 656 billion VND.

In the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to promote capital support programs, skills training, market connection; at the same time, promote the role of the Youth Union in leading, orienting and creating a favorable environment for young people to start a business. From there, it will contribute to promoting the youth start-up movement to develop more and more strongly, forming many new and creative economic models and actively contributing to the socio-economic growth of the province.
