Timely prevent and resolutely prevent fishing vessels and fishermen in the province from violating foreign waters. Urgently investigate, verify and handle vessels violating foreign waters in 2022 and 2023 according to regulations. Timely detect and thoroughly handle the situation of brokers and collusion to bring fishing vessels and fishermen to illegally exploit foreign waters. In addition, the organization resolutely implements the peak month of general inspection of fishing vessels in the whole province, statistics, screening, classification of "3 no" fishing vessels, registration, inspection, issuance of fishing licenses, installation of journey monitoring equipment on fishing vessels in accordance with legal regulations, and strict handling of violations.
Urgently repair and overcome the damage and degradation of infrastructure at fishing ports (La Gi, Phan Thiet, Phan Ri Cua, Lien Huong), strengthen environmental sanitation inspection, overcome pollution at fishing ports to meet the requirements of preventing IUU fishing associated with ensuring food hygiene and safety. In addition, effectively control fishing vessels, monitor fishing output at fishing ports and wharves, requiring 100% of fishing vessels with a length of 15 meters or more to dock at designated ports to unload products according to regulations. At the same time, review and improve the representative offices for fisheries control at fishing ports and wharves of the province (including Lien Huong, Phu Quy), increase human resources and equipment to meet the requirements of controlling and preventing IUU fishing.
At the same time, organize law enforcement seriously, effectively and efficiently; strengthen patrols, inspections, controls, and strictly handle IUU fishing acts according to the provisions of law. Organize inspections and public service checks, promptly rectify and strictly handle organizations and individuals who are subjective, negligent, and irresponsible in performing their duties, affecting the efforts to combat IUU fishing and remove the EC's "Yellow Card" warning.
