Implement well the work of national defense and security education

On the afternoon of November 24, the inspection delegation of the Central Council for National Defense and Security Education (GDQP&AN) led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Council for National Defense and Security Education, inspected the work of GDQP&AN in Thai Binh province. Receiving and working with the delegation were comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and members of the Provincial Council for National Defense and Security Education.

In recent times, the work of National Defense and Security Education in Thai Binh has been actively and comprehensively led, directed, and implemented, successfully completing the set targets and plans. The Provincial National Defense and Security Education Council has well organized the training of knowledge for the subjects; improved the quality of direction, coordination, and propaganda work on National Defense and Security Education. From January 2022 to October 2023, the whole province has trained 11,364 people in National Defense and Security knowledge, reaching nearly 85% of the plan. The whole province has organized National Defense and Security Education for 118,201 students of 47 universities, colleges, and high schools, reaching 99.6%. The work of disseminating knowledge of National Defense and Security for the whole population has received regular attention. The Provincial Military Command is the standing agency of the Provincial National Defense and Security Education Council, which has coordinated with Thai Binh Newspaper, Thai Binh Radio and Television Station, the Provincial Police, and the Provincial Border Guard Command to develop a plan to propagate National Defense and Security Education on mass media with diverse and rich forms and methods. From the beginning of 2022 up to now, the National Defense and Security Education Council at all levels has organized training on propaganda skills and techniques for nearly 1,200 reporters, propagandists, and officers working in mass mobilization of agencies and units; coordinated to build nearly 1,000 columns "National Defense", "For Homeland Security", "Border Defense" ... on mass media.

At the inspection session, delegates clarified the achievements, shortcomings and limitations in the work of national defense and security education in the past time, and proposed tasks and solutions to better implement the work of national defense and security education in the coming time.

Speaking at the inspection, comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Thai Binh identifies local defense and military work in general, and education and training on national defense and security in particular as important and regular tasks, always going hand in hand with the task of socio-economic development. Political security, social order and safety in the province are stable, and the investment and business environment is safe, contributing to attracting investors to Thai Binh. Therefore, in recent years, the entire political system of the province has focused on leading, directing, and implementing this work well. The activities of the education and training councils at all levels are ensured according to regulations and rules.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee seriously accepted the opinions and recommendations of the members of the inspection team. Along with effectively implementing the education of national defense and security knowledge for the subjects according to the plan, in the coming time, the province will continue to pay attention to expanding the training of national defense and security knowledge for specific subjects such as religious dignitaries, religious officials, workers, and employees of enterprises...

In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Council for National Defense and Security Education, and head of the inspection team acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that Thai Binh has achieved in socio-economic development, especially in national defense and security work in recent times. In order to effectively implement national defense and security education work in the coming time, he requested the Provincial National Defense and Security Education Council to seriously absorb and review the shortcomings and limitations that the inspection team pointed out, thereby clearly identifying the main causes and objective causes to have effective solutions. All levels, sectors, cadres, party members and people in the province continue to raise their vigilance against hostile forces; regularly grasp and effectively implement the directives of the Central Government, Military Region 3 and the province on national defense and security education work; Diversify and innovate propaganda methods, especially the Party's policies and guidelines, relevant laws... contributing to raising people's awareness of self-compliance with the law, consolidating and strengthening national defense potential, meeting the requirements and tasks of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. Focus on expanding the subjects of national defense and security education, fostering national defense and security knowledge for all people. Military agencies at all levels strengthen coordination, advise local Party committees and authorities to lead, direct and effectively implement national defense and security education and legal education, especially in key areas, coastal border areas... Regularly improve and improve the quality of activities of national defense and security education councils at all levels, in which the core role of the police, military, border guards and the Fatherland Front is promoted. Along with that, Thai Binh continues to pay attention to investing in facilities serving national defense and security education.

Previously, on the morning of November 24, the delegation inspected the work of National Defense and Security Education at the Provincial Police, Department of Education and Training, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, and Dong Hung district.
