"FAM's suspension of Secretary General Datuk Noor Azman Rahman is effective immediately, yet he still appeared when the FIFA President visited. What does that say about responsibility?", Free Malaysia Today questioned after images surfaced of former Secretary General Azman Rahman smiling and posing for photos with FIFA President Gianni Infantino during the world football governing body's visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 27.
Immediately, many Malaysian football fans expressed surprise at Azman Rahman's role despite being suspended from his position in connection with the country's player naturalization fraud scandal.

"Does anyone believe that FAM has suspended him? Were the decisions just a joke to appease public opinion?", commented Maximus Sangeet Singh from Malaysia.
"FAM claims to have suspended him immediately and effectively. But how is he still appearing with the FIFA President?", commented user Iskandar Shawn.
"Perhaps he was there to whisper in the FIFA President's ear about the mistakes of Malaysian football," another Malaysian football fan commented sarcastically.
However, the Malaysian newspaper News Straits Times has clarified the reason for Azman Rahman's presence alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
"Azman Rahman's appearance in the photo with Infantino is not related to any official duties. This image was taken in a private setting and not at any official event recognized by FAM or FIFA."
"Mr. Azman Rahman was present in a personal capacity and did not represent FAM in any official role," the News Straits Times quoted a statement from FAM.
However, the announcement from FAM was not widely supported, especially since FIFA has yet to issue a final ruling on the naturalization fraud scandal (expected to be announced tomorrow, October 30).
"He was there in a personal capacity and coincidentally he took a photo with the FIFA President. I knew it, FAM always finds a way to appease the public," commented user Bran Ho.
