Ms. N. recorded a video of a piece of ham with maggots crawling in a serving of rice rolls – Photo cut from clip
Social media is buzzing with a post by a female diner who said she found maggots in her rice rolls with grilled pork.
'Scared when biting into a piece of ham with maggots'
Accordingly, Ms. N., the owner of the post, said that on October 13, she ordered a portion of banh cuon on a food delivery app. This banh cuon portion was from a restaurant on Phan Dang Luu Street (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City).
Ms. N. wrote: “I ordered a 40,000 VND portion of banh cuon but there were maggots in the patty. It was really scary. After taking a bite, I saw something moving. I looked and saw maggots in the patty. It was really haunting.”
The above information caused a stir in public opinion, making many people confused.
Ms. N. added that when she discovered the ham had maggots, she responded to the restaurant and sent information to the delivery unit, but waited nearly 2 days and still had no response. Frustrated, she posted the article online.

Claim but not receive?
On the evening of October 16, Ms. Tran Thi Nh., owner of the above banh cuon shop, confirmed that there was an incident reported to her shop by a customer as above.
Ms. N. said that on October 15, she contacted the poster to apologize and asked for a refund of 37,000 VND for the order that Ms. N. had placed, along with another portion of banh cuon to be delivered as an apology.
The owner of this restaurant also promised to pay for medical examination and medication if customers have health problems after the incident.
But this customer did not agree to the compensation because he was too scared after the incident of eating the maggot-infested rice rolls, so he did not want to accept the additional compensation.
On the morning of October 16, this customer texted the restaurant again saying that he had a headache, fever, and a rash, so he asked the restaurant to "provide more reasonable compensation" so he could go for a health check.

“Because the customer did not specify the amount of compensation requested, I said we would go to the authorities together to ask for witnesses and come up with a reasonable amount to end the incident. The customer said he did not want to receive compensation and accepted the restaurant's apology,” the restaurant owner said.
Ms. Nh. said that her restaurant has been open for more than 10 years and affirmed that the food and drinks of the restaurant are all prepared and consumed on the same day. All food is carefully selected before being delivered to customers.
The owner of this restaurant admitted that the restaurant's food safety certificate expired at the beginning of this year and is currently in the process of being reissued.
The story is still hot on social media. The restaurant owner said his restaurant ensures food safety and hygiene, but customers said the food had maggots.
