Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai: Ben Tre needs to focus on regional linkages in socio-economic development

On the morning of May 27, the working delegation of the Standing Secretariat led by Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, had a working session with the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee on Party building and political system building since the 11th Provincial Party Congress.

Working with the delegation, comrade Le Duc Tho, Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, said that, absorbing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee has seriously implemented it, built a specific, appropriate, clear, non-overlapping action program, and set out key tasks.

Since then, the work of Party building and political system building has developed quite comprehensively and synchronously, creating a clear change. The study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, associated with the exemplary responsibility of cadres and Party members, especially leaders at all levels, has been implemented throughout the entire Party organization.

The economy recovered and grew positively, budget revenue was quite good. Cultural and social activities were maintained and developed; gratitude and social security were well implemented; the application of information technology and digital transformation were developed rapidly; public service reform changed positively.

Up to now, implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, the estimated economic growth rate (GRDP) in the first half of the term has reached 5.97%. It is estimated that by the end of the term, 17/20 targets are likely to be achieved and exceeded. In addition, the structure of crops and livestock has shifted towards increasing value and efficiency.

The province has formed a number of key product chains and developed nearly 2,600 hectares of brackish water shrimp farming using high technology. The Standing Committee of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee has established a Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity, headed by the Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, and has also led the strict implementation of Party regulations and State laws on anti-corruption and negativity.

Speaking at the working session, comrade Truong Thi Mai acknowledged and commended the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee for their solidarity, unity and outstanding results in the first half of the term implementing the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress.

Ben Tre has also closely followed and strictly implemented the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress in line with reality and issued documents suitable to local reality to have a basis for implementing the Central's policies and guidelines. The province always focuses on Party building, building the political system, inspection, supervision and enforcement of Party discipline and ensuring social security, national defense and security.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai requested that the province should focus on regional linkages in socio-economic development in the coming time.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai highly appreciated the province's efforts in a number of economic development indicators, especially the development shift to the East, the scale of the province's economy is increasingly growing, surpassing other provinces in the region and the general level of the whole country.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai hopes that in the coming time, Ben Tre will continue to pay attention to leading and directing the construction of 10 aspects of Party building, paying attention to grassroots party organizations and the quality of party members. Strengthening Party building work, implementing well the resolutions of the Central Committee; building a clean, strong and substantial Party and political system is a key task, in which cadre work is decisive. Continuing to pay attention to building grassroots party organizations, the quality of party members, doing well and tightening cadre work for the next term.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai requested that Ben Tre, in addition to the achieved results, needs to closely follow the goals, tasks and solutions in the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Congress, especially the 5 key tasks and 3 breakthrough tasks to promote development in the remaining half of the term; focus on regional linkages in socio-economic development in the coming time.
