The Provincial Party Standing Committee works with the Provincial Veterans Association

Today, March 19, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a working session with the Provincial Veterans Association (VVA) on a number of key tasks in 2024. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang chaired the meeting.

In 2023, the War Veterans Association of the whole province developed 356 new members, bringing the total number of current members to 32,306. The War Veterans Association at all levels coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, unions, and localities to actively mobilize cadres and members to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; proactively fight against "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the organization, and propagate and mobilize war veterans and people to participate in implementing patriotic emulation movements, campaigns, key tasks, and key projects in the area.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Veterans Association also focused on directing the building of a strong association in terms of ideology and organization; effectively implementing the movements "War veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business ", "War veterans join hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", building "Houses of gratitude", "Comradely affection"... 98% of war veterans' cadres and members achieved the title of exemplary members; 98% of members' families achieved the title of cultural family, achieving the set targets.

The key task in 2024, the Provincial Veterans Association focuses on leading and directing the successful organization of the 7th "Exemplary Veterans" Emulation Congress, associated with the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Association's tradition day; well performing the task of participating in building and protecting the Party, the government, the socialist regime and the people; building a Veterans Association strong in ideology and organization, fighting against erroneous and hostile views, protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Responding to patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, associated with local socio-economic development projects and programs.

Speaking at the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang highly agreed with the tasks set out by the Provincial Veterans Association in 2024; at the same time, he requested that all levels of the Provincial Veterans Association in the coming time continue to do better in building flesh-and-blood relationships with the people, participating in Party building and promoting the revolutionary tradition of the homeland and country to educate traditions, perform well the work of repaying gratitude, worthy of the tradition of the heroic and affectionate land of Quang Tri. Pay attention to and improve the work of building the association, especially the work of cadres; consolidate the activities of the Veterans Club, and perform well the assigned tasks.

Take the lead in achieving the goal of no poor war veterans as household heads and eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing for war veterans, contributing with the province to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in the area.

Through the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation congress to commend and multiply typical examples of outstanding veterans across the province for people to learn and follow.

2024 is the year Quang Tri province organizes a major national festival about the aspiration for world peace ; celebrates the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh tradition; and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, so the Veterans Association must be the core to promote these events well, thereby arousing patriotism and the aspiration to build the homeland and country to become increasingly strong and prosperous.
