Departments, branches and the Cooperative Union of Tien Giang province have actively supported cooperatives in trade promotion and finding markets for product consumption.

To support cooperatives, in 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade organized many training courses for businesses, in which many cooperatives participated, such as: Training on sales skills and product display methods; sales skills via livestream and some e-commerce trends; trade defense; orientation for logistics service development in Tien Giang province; e-commerce training with the theme "Improving application and management capacity of e-commerce in Tien Giang province"; digital transformation in trade promotion activities...

At the same time, the Department of Industry and Trade has supported and informed cooperatives in the province to know and register to participate in more than 30 fairs, exhibitions, and trade promotion events such as: Vietnam International Trade Fair - Vietnam Expo 2024 in Hanoi; Northwest - Dien Bien Industry and Trade Fair 2024 in Dien Bien province; Ho Chi Minh City International Food and Food Industry Exhibition 3rd time 2024 - HCMC FOODEX 2024; Northern Industry and Trade Fair - Hoa Binh 2024; Conference on connecting trade and product consumption between Tien Giang - Dak Lak at Tien Giang Provincial Convention Center; Mekong Delta Industry and Trade Fair - Tien Giang 2024; China - Vietnam Border Economic Trade and Tourism Fair 2024; Tinh Bien - An Giang International Trade Fair 2024; Business connection program with businesses in Guangdong province, China...

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang province, there are currently 20 cooperatives in the field of handicrafts and trade and services in the province. Of these, 12 cooperatives operate in the field of handicrafts and 8 cooperatives operate in the field of trade and services with a total of 2,185 members, creating jobs for 5,692 workers.

Small-scale industrial cooperatives mainly operate in handicraft production, knitting, garment processing for export, animal feed production, and power transmission. Average revenue by the end of 2024 will reach VND 72,537 billion; average profit will reach VND 800 million.

The activities of cooperatives continue to develop in a positive direction. Many cooperatives have promoted their internal strength, increased their scale of operation, innovated technology, purchased equipment, and expanded production and business.

At the same time, boldly expand to other types, research and grasp the domestic market to diversify products, meeting market needs.

Among them, some typical cooperatives have export products such as: Chien Thang Cooperative, Binh Minh Cooperative, Quang Minh Cooperative.

Some cooperatives regularly participate in trade promotion activities of the Department of Industry and Trade such as: Dong Nghi Agricultural Cooperative, Hiep Duc Agricultural Service Cooperative, Cho Gao Coconut Cooperative, My Phong Cooperative, Hung Thinh Phat Clean Agriculture Cooperative, My Luong Agricultural Production Service Cooperative, Vinh Kim Cooperative, Hoa Loc Cooperative...

Through trade promotion, cooperatives in the province have gradually expanded their markets across the country. Some cooperatives in the province have had partners come to discuss and cooperate in business. With their efforts in recent times, cooperatives have achieved certain successes.

According to the assessment of the Department of Industry and Trade, Vietnam is currently participating more and more deeply in the process of globalization and international integration, opening up many great opportunities, but also posing many challenges (fierce competition, quality of human resources, etc.). Cooperatives face many challenges that require a new mindset, a new perspective and solutions for sustainable development.

In order to support cooperatives in the province in promoting trade, expanding markets, investing in the application of modern machinery and equipment in the production process, in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to organize training courses, fostering specialized knowledge for the management and professional staff of the collective economic sector. At the same time, grasp the actual situation at cooperatives to promptly advise, guide, and support units to develop production and business.

The Department of Industry and Trade will strengthen information and propaganda work on international economic integration to cooperatives in the province that export, and the contents of free trade agreements that Vietnam has signed. One of the important solutions is to organize conferences and seminars to share information, experience and techniques to improve the ability to deal with international trade issues; provide information and skills on e-commerce.

The Industry and Trade Department will continue to implement trade promotion support programs inside and outside the province to help cooperatives find more partners and expand markets. At the same time, support investment in applying modern machinery and equipment in the production process from the industrial promotion fund for cooperatives in the province to create quality products that are competitive in the market.

The Department of Industry and Trade will also actively coordinate with the Tien Giang Province Cooperative Union, relevant departments, branches and localities to organize forms of linkage to create value chains from production to product consumption. Increase support for cooperatives to participate in the program of voting for typical rural industrial products, organize the sale of Vietnamese goods to rural areas; support vocational training for workers, especially idle workers in rural areas.
