On the afternoon of April 2, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee held a conference to review internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity and judicial reform in the first quarter of 2024.

The assessment report at the conference stated: In the first quarter, the Provincial Party Committee closely followed the Central Government's guidelines and directions, identified key tasks, focused on leadership and direction at all levels and sectors, and deployed tasks for 2024. The Provincial Party Committee issued a directive to lead the task of ensuring security, order, national defense, military, and border work in 2024. Political security, social order and safety were ensured; military and national defense work was consolidated and strengthened.

The Provincial Party Committee has focused on leading agencies and units to effectively perform tasks of preventing and combating corruption, negativity, and waste in accordance with regulations; perfecting the Working Group of the Provincial Steering Committee for Preventing and Combating Corruption and Negativity; and organizing meetings and sessions to ensure operating regulations.

Judicial reform has received attention. The fight against, prevention of and combating all types of crimes has achieved many results, many serious and especially serious cases have been solved; many drug trafficking and transportation rings in large quantities and loan sharking rings in civil transactions have been discovered and dismantled. Judicial agencies have coordinated well in initiating, investigating, prosecuting and adjudicating; the quality of investigation, prosecution, adjudication and execution of sentences has been increasingly improved.
